Construction has begun on the orphanage in Kenya 🇰🇪 for the Masai Tribe!
The plans for the orphanage began when members of The Lift came back home to the United States from Kenya in July of 2018. The mission team members felt like God had laid a heavy burden on their hearts for the people of the tribe, and particularly for children who had been orphaned.
During their time in Kenya, the mission team members met some people of the Masai Tribe while on a site-seeing tour. They counted 75 children in the Tribe who had no home, and no hope. Their hearts had broken for each and every child and their families. The mission team leaders approached Sole 2 Soul Mission about a potential partnership to build an orphanage for these children saying, "God has laid these kids on our hearts. We cannot get those faces off of our minds, and we have to act now."
Sole 2 Soul reached out to its supporters and donors and asked for assistance raising the funds for the orphanage. Within a few months, God had provided the funds to build the orphanage through private donations, supporting organizations, and a dollar-for-dollar match of funds.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
The Masai Tribe, to the best of Sole 2 Soul Mission's knowledge, has never been helped by any groups from the United States before now. S2S believes that it was God's will for The Lift members to visit the Tribe at that exact time in order for this partnership to be formed. The Masai people are very proud of their heritage and devoutly Christian.
Proverbs 3:6: "Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track."
The orphanage is well on its way to being built, possibly by the end of 2019.
